About Paratransit Services

Paratransit is a shared-ride service operated with modern accessible vehicles and taxi cabs. Riders who are unable to access vans by using steps can use the wheelchair lifts or ramps. On the large accessible vans, boarding chairs are available upon request.

DART also offers free travel training through our Mobility Ambassador Program to persons with disabilities who are capable of riding accessible fixed-route bus and rail services.

DART Paratransit Service Area

Certified paratransit riders are welcome to schedule trips to begin and end anywhere in the following cities:

• Addison • Garland • Rowlett
• Carrollton • Glenn Heights • Plano
• Cockrell Hill • Highland Park • University Park
• Dallas • Irving  
• Farmers Branch • Richardson  

Paratransit service also is provided between the DART Service Areas and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

NEW Paratransit Booking Website

You now can schedule, view and cancel trips 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at DART.org/RidePara.

Once you schedule, we'll provide you with a 20-minute pick up window. You can track your vehicle's location in real time without having to call Where's my Ride. Our booking website is open to all DART certified paratransit riders.

First you will need to create an online account using your DART Paratransit ID to register. If you experience issues creating your account, please call 214-828-6736 for assistance logging into the booking website. Paratransit Customer Relations representatives are available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Don't have internet access? Call 214-515-7272 to schedule a trip. New automated features allow you to cancel a trip, get updated trip information including estimated arrival times, and more.

Due to these new tools, DART will discontinue our automated X-Press Booking (XPB) system.

Paratransit Coronavirus Information

DART Riders Required to Wear Face Coverings
In accordance with Gov. Greg Abbott's Executive Order, DART passengers are required to wear a face mask or similar face covering while on DART vehicles or properties to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Face coverings that cover both the mouth and nose will be required when riding DART buses, trains and paratransit vehicles, Trinity Railway Express trains, at DART stations, on platforms, inside DART buildings and on board the Dallas Streetcar.

Cleaning Protocols
DART has aggressively expanded agency-wide cleaning and safety protocols in response to the novel coronavirus. DART remains committed to doing everything possible to keep our patrons and employees safe. We are in direct contact with local, state and national health authorities to monitor the situation, and we will provide updated information as it becomes available.

DART Paratransit vehicles receive a complete wipe-down with an EPA-approved cleaning agent after each trip.

DART encourages passengers who feel sick or are experiencing symptoms to stay home and avoid public places.

As a passenger, if you see an unhygienic surface that needs attention, please contact DART Customer Service at 214-979-1111, or submit a comment or complaint through the "DART Say Something" app, which can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store or Google Play.

We want to remind all our riders that the best way to stay informed about changes in service is through My DART Updates. Customers can sign-up for My DART Updates at www.dart.org/email.

DART Headquarters Temporary Closure
Paratransit in-person assessments are not available while DART Headquarters is closed. Assessments are being done over the phone temporarily. Call 214-828-6717 for assistance.

Reduced Fare cards are not being processed while DART Headquarters is closed. Riders may show their expired Reduced Fare ID card or a Form 1000 to qualify for a reduced fare.

Many of the Reduced Fare certifying agencies are also closed during this time. Call 214-828-8529 to complete a Form 1000, if needed.

Grocery Pickup and Delivery Service for Paratransit Riders
We know that it is important for our customers to stay at home as much as possible during this time. DART paratransit customers can now take advantage of a special grocery pickup and delivery service that is available until further notice.

DART Paratransit drivers will pick up groceries from the store and deliver directly to the customer. There is no charge for this service, but customers must have placed their orders directly with the grocery store and provide DART with the pickup ID information.

Customers interested in signing up, or learning more about the service, can call one of the DART Mobility Ambassadors at 214-828-8588, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
